Where: Bewleys Airport Hotel, Stockhole Lane, Dublin
Who: We have four fabulous and diverse teachers in Sheena Norquay (Fri, Sat, Mon and Tues), Gill Turley (Fri and Sat), Mary Palmer (Fri and Sat) and Pauline Openeer (Saturday). There is something for all abilities and interests. We have made every effort to keep the costs down and make it as accessible to as many people as possible. Our Friday class will start at 11.00am allowing people to travel that morning and saving them an extra nights accommodation.
Which workshop(s) are you planning on doing? Details of all workshops can be seen here (6.9Mb word file) and on this blog. Application forms can be downloaded here (1.8Mb word file)
For Conference 2014, the BASIC weekend package will include Friday and Saturday Nights Accommodation on a twin share basis including breakfast. Saturday Workshop with lunch and teas, Saturday Dinner with after dinner talk by Sheena J. Norquay. Sunday morning “Show and tell” and morning tea. Optional are the Sunday afternoon Mystery Quilt with Frances McCarthy with Free Sewing space available for those who just want to sew their own projects.
Sunday Lunch is NOT included. We have removed this, as we are aware that some members not staying on would like to leave to travel home as soon as possible. Lunch will be available at your own cost.
If you purchase the Basic weekend package, we are offering the Friday class and the Monday/Tuesday class at a reduced rate.
Single room supplement is also available, along with extra nights accommodation if required.
Parking will cost €8 per day, so I would suggest travelling with a friend to share this cost. Note that if you are leaving your car in the carpark for the weekend, you can pre-book and save some money.
Sunday morning will be the Annual General Meeting. This meeting will take place at 10.00am just before Show and Tell. Please note that this meeting is important, and we will forward an AGM notification with Motions the Committee propose to put to the meeting.
The Conference/Retreat is to be held at Bewleys Hotel, the same venue we used for Retreat 2013. Looking at the figures that attended the retreat over the years we noticed the numbers were up when the venue was equally accessible to our Northern and Southern attendees. All major roads and public transport lead to Dublin and there is the added advantage of being next to the airport. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at Conference 2014. Please remember that each class has a limited capacity and that it is on a first come basis.
